    vcds help needed

Hi. Ive recently bought a mk4 golf gttdi 150bhp arl. It drove fine for the first few days but all of a sudden seemed to lose a lot of power. Ive used cable ties and jubilee clips to keep all the pipes tight and its only made a little difference. The turbo was fitted around 30k ago but the last owner had the car 7 years but she only used it for little school runs etc and only did around 3000 miles per year. Its done 108k miles.

Theres no smoke except on start up, i can still hear the turbo but it doesnt seem to pull very well. When the revs hit 2k it whines but then stops when the revs get any higher. I originally thought the maf so had that replaced but from eurocarparts but since regretted not getting a main dealer part incase its failed. If idles fine. The average mpg is only around 36 however.

Im just hoping its not the turbo going.

Im just wondering if anyone in the stone/stafford area has any experience in diagnosing or has the diagnostic software equipment available.

    Thanks
    Aidan
