Post Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet not going to the US - INAUTONEWS

The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced that the new 2013 Golf GTI Cabriolet won’t be going to the United States for now.
After being officially revealed ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on the 6th of March, Volkswagen is once again placing the new Golf GTI Cabriolet into the spotlights by announcing that the drop-top won’t be going to the United States just yet, so people over-seas interested in the model will have to wait until they will be able to get their hands on one.

“The first VW GTI Cabriolet will be revealed next week at the Geneva Auto Show. While it won’t be making its way to the States, you can enjoy a first look at the photos. What do you think?”.

Honestly we’re not interested because we live in Europe, but we think that Americans will be angry and we also think that Volkswagen will lose some customers on the way. As a reminder, the 2012 VW Golf GTI Cabriolet is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder engine, the same one from the GTI hatchback, which is developing a total output of 207 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque. The unit is mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, which is helping the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 147 mph
