    Hey I'm looking on buying a mk 3 golf gti 8v (and before the messages come in about buying the 16v I can't gt insured) and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for getting the most out of it?

    Welcome along mate. My lad has a mk3 1.4 three door in red but needs some work doing to it for an MOT. Wanted £300ono.

    welcome along m8 and there is a few things you can do which is the same as with most cars.

    Remove all interier from inside the car to make it lighter
    add a perfomance air filter
    new exhaust removeing the Cat and changeing the manifold

    as with all modifications it is best to check with your insurance provider as you could invalidate your insurance

    if non of the above take your fancy there is always the engine swap modification ofc up to you wether you inform DVLA / Insurance on that one

    not a big modifier of golfs myself so some of the other guys might be able to point you in a better direction then what i have

    have fun on the forums and finding your car m8
