Newbie from Walsall, Edition 30 owner and a bit of a detailing geek...

I was made aware of this place after speaking to Jon over on Ed38, so thought I'd sign up as I'm quite local too

I'm new to the VW world having recently sold my R26 Megane and bought an Edition 30 Golf.

I've had the Golf about 4 weeks or so, and am really liking it so far.

    Mod wise, I've:

    - Remapped it (315BHP)
    - Lowered on Eibach Sportlines
    - Black VW Front Badge
    - Edition 30 Front badge
    - GTI Tax Disc Holder

Within the new few months, I plan to:

    - Bilstein Shocks and Eibach Rear ARB
    - RNS510 Sat Nav Head Unit
    - Xenon Headlights

I'll probably leave it alone after that and just try and keep it clean.

I'm also a bit of a detailing geek, and have detailed about 80 cars or so in my spare time, with the most recent being this Edition 30 Golf in Rugby:

My Edition 30 met its more feature packed brother today! - - Detailing World -'m happy to help with anything detailing related if any of you guys have any questions

    Cheers,
    Russ.

    Cheers

I think the RR was a bit optimistic tbh, as it measured 240 standard, but it is the same engine as the Cupra isn't it?

It's certainly pretty nippy, and surprises a few cars, but putting the power down in 1st and 2nd isn't the easiest lol.

Do you guys fit things like Rear ARB's etc?

Yeah we can do no problems.

A guy I know has a Edition 30 running 370bhp, it goes well but only when you can put it down really need 4 motion for over 300.

The new Golf R should be a really good base once people start messing more when the're out of warranty.

Nice one, I'll be in touch when I get it then

Is the Ed30 the red one that the trader in Stoke has? My mate knows him too, sells him wheels from time to time, he said that the power is crazy! I don't think I'll take it any further tbh, as you say, needs Quattro or similar ideally. I'll prob get an S3 or Golf R within 6-12 months or so

Yeah that's the guy, we do their VAG stuff for them. I've only driven it on damp roads and it was a bit of a pain trying to get it to grip, we fitted a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch to it the other month and it was dry but for some reason disconnecting the battery wiped the map so it was running slower and it had to be reprogrammed. (he knows someone at Awesome and they do it him for less than we are willing to drop to).
