Thread: My Polo G40 in alittle bit more depth.

My Polo G40 in alittle bit more depth.

    Hello all

Afew people asked more about the spec of my little g40, so i thought i'd make a thread just for it.

I myself haven't done anything to this car yet as im struggling to find things to do to it, as its pretty much perfect as it is.

The big gutter is that this is not a original g40 but i doubt anybody could tell in the flesh. Someone went to alot of effort to make it a g40.

    current spec as follows

Engine: 1272cc G40, derestricted airbox and KnN panel filter, PSD Fulll blend charger/R1 Service and 65mm toothed pullies, chip, boost return removed, de wedged throttle body, GT inlet, full custom 2.5" exhaust system.

Suspension: HnR 60/40 cup kit, new G40 tcas with powerflex outter bushes, G-ladersite green arb mount blocks, and Front lower brace bar.

Brakes: G40 brakes, greenstuff pads, and grooved discs.

Wheels and Tyres: 14x6 BBS RA's with 185 50 yokos.

Exterior Styling: G40 grill, clear indicators, and side repeaters, late spec rear lights with german cluster.

    Interior Styling: standard G40

Looking to improve on the performance even more so all suggestions welcome

The bhp is roughly 150-160 i hope and it really does shift with a 0-60 time within the 5seconds

The big downside is the suspension set-up, its like a go kart in the corners but the ride is unbearable even when sitting at 70 the dash vibrates sooooooooo much but i guess thats what you get in a old light car and a hard ride.

Things to come with this little polo is going to be minor

-need to get my poke on as the rear wheels sit like a foot in each!
    -roll cage just incase
-some nice seats to hold me well too, not sure which yet, no so keen on buckets in a small car tbh
-somehow an increase in power, seen afew g40's reach 190 so that would be nice

    cheers

    lex

    Nice one,

Just watch the chassis legs, especially on big power G40's. My mate Steve (formerly Pitstop Developments) had that happen to his notorious black G, the chassis leg peeled itself away from the bulkhead. Our mate Jonny Drew also had it happen to his GT, he got it welded up but it was a ****ty job.
