    My Skoda Octavia VRS TDi

well i thought i would post up the latest daily as the Bora has gone to its new owner

took me a while hunting down the right colour (had be race blue ) and spec but finally found one that ticked all the boxes.

    Race Blue...check!
    Xenons...check!
    Maxidot...check!
Cooled glove box and jumbo box...check!

so after about a hour and a half drive from just outside of Wrexham and doing the Snake pass on the way back as well she arrived.

next stop i think is too Mr BVR for a small list of expensive niggles that need sorting

    cheers Jon,

    tiny update:
nothing has really changed to it, as the previous owner was a smoker my OCD kicked in i had give the inside a good clean.

started with Autobrite FAB and a brush/nail brush

scrubbed all the door cards and plastics and lightly went over the roof lining along with the wet vac on the mats and carpet.

once dry i finally attacked it with a Dakota odor car fogger (new car smell is quite a nice fragrance)

2 hour later and a wipe down of everything and the seats a quick wipe over with some Dr Leather wipes (highly recommended with anyone who has leather) the smell has gone and fingers crossed gone forever

try the one above Jon, great smell and not to in your face fragrance either. autobrite do a a similar one as well but is rather strong for my liking to be honest.

another small update, thanks to the guys at BVR HQ i now have dash free of lights (ABS unit), cambelt/water pump etc..., full service, the annoying noise from the rear which resulted in new drop links on the back and a quick once over.

now a happy bunny i must say

nothing special to report back on really.

we had some nice weather not so long ago and with having nothing do i thought id treat the car to some TLC and give it a full detail resulting in this

3 days later and after doing 12 hours at work she spat her dummy out and refused to start and had call the AA.

thankfully i got it recovered to BVR HQ (cheers guys once again), strangely no fault codes stored and guys at BVR gave it the once over and all seemed fine

    BLOODY UNRELIABLE VAGS

also purchased a new precoded CAN gateway
and on the hunt for a the Bolero headunit or the Columbus RNS510 as the standard head unit is just shocking

Some say not to empty the whole can into a car but I did anyway due to the smell.

Basically press the cap in and let it fill the car and then air out , give everything a wipe down and jobs a good un

    small update,

New CAN arrived, along with a FAKRA Ariel adaptor, met up with a giant (the guy was freaking huge) from Briskoda who was selling this:

    also installed this:

as i was having a few problems with starting, as the car was on its original battery i took the plunge and fitted one, has made a huge difference and starts first time on the key no more stuttering etc... so fingers crossed on that part and mr AA man is a thing of the past

    spot the difference!

new updated CANbus installed as well which was a bloody ball ache of a job, never knew interior plastics to be so F-ing sharp
