    Ivan and the Agronaut

I know the pics are posted elsewhere, but why not trot them out once more?

First up is my Mk2 Golf GTi

This photo was taken when I went to pick him up. Full carb conversion with ported head, seriously pokey and sitting on Koni coils and Toyo Proxys it sticks to the road like a dog egg to a slipper

    With halo

After a five hour journey to work and bobbing past a Maserati stuck on the M5, the old stick completes another thirty mile commute

New addition that we picked up this morning courtesy of the good people at Stafford Volkswagen

    Its relatively rapid too

Make sure you have a warranty with a B6 TDI. They love eating injectors lol.

    Re: Ivan and the Agronaut

Cheers folks! Oh don't worry, the B6 is warranteed to the hilt! I was kinda hoping for a B5 W8 (until the mrs read up on what that meant) so had to look for a Highline. Then finding a straight one took the price up to almost what the B6 was stickered at.

The Mk2 is my first love though. Odd really as i'd gone out to buy a 16v Jetta on a J plate- unfortunately the photos had been taken some time before the sale and I declined to offer on it. Never ever considered a Golf as it just didn't have the same gravitas in my eyes. However spotted this on the 449 in Penkridge on the way home. More than I wanted to pay but after a test-drive was sold and my return to VAG ownership was complete. I left the fold in 2006 after my Audi Coupe finally bit the dust, should never have bought Fkin French!

Sure i have a spare highline grille for a B6 in the garage off my old one if you want it to make mods etc.

    Re: Ivan and the Agronaut

Cheers Paul although technically the B6 is the mrs' and i'm pretty sure she'll be against modding it in any sort of way! She really doesn't see the interest in old VWs unless its a Samba bus. Finds it odd that i'd spend so much time with the mk2 although i'm still hoping to convert her (and allow a way in for B3 GT or if one can be found, a 16v Jetta)
On the up-side finally got a chance to open up the B6 yesterday without enough stuff in the back to cope with a UN aid crisis. My god that car is quick and certainly worried a Saxo chav-chariot. Thinking it may be a top purchase
