    Ibiza TDI Sport

    Here's a few pics of my new beeza. It's a TDI Sport 110, ASV engine. Looked at a few Ibiza's before buying this one but they were all junk, this one was spot on...one owner from new, all MOT's/service receipts etc, clean and tidy and no rusty rear arches (my pet hate). Loving it so far, so much nicer to drive than the Berlingo it replaced, and far better on fuel....averaging 50mpg

    Standard at the moment apart from the rear wiper delete that I did when I got it, rear wiper was fubared anyway. Got a few plans for it in the pipeline so I'll keep this thread updated when stuff gets done.

    Done a bit of work on the Ibiza this week. Did my first proper mod..an EGR delete, using an Allard delete kit I bought. Gets rid of the whole thing instead of just blanking it off, and removes the stupid anti shudder valve. I knew when I took the EGR off it would be in a bit of a state inside as they always are on diesels - and it didn't disappoint. Here's a few pics to show you fellow TDI owners what yours will be like...

    Inside the EGR valve - dear god...


    Intake manifold obviously just as bad, good 5mm+ thick in places.


    Exhaust manifold blank fitted


    All cleaned up - horrible horrible job, used about 4 ltrs of petrol cleaning it.


    Finished, no more EGR valve - shiny delete pipe instead.


    Completely cleaned up the intake manifold and as much of inside the head as I could. It's running loads better, starts easier, runs smoother and seems to be boosting better too. Also replaced all of those [email protected] springy band clamp things on the boost hoses for jubilee clips.

    Also fitted a set of MK4 Golf horns as the standard Ibiza horn is a tad gay (no good for blasting old people who cut you up at all), tinted the front fogs yellow with some tint film I had left over from the celi (fog lights that actually work in fog ) and fitted some aero wipers.

    Next time, the most important mod of all - lowering.

    good work mate im tempted to get another inlet for mine and clean it all up and maybe polish it aswell!!!

    Do it mate. You could just clean the EGR and intake out but I think you'd be ok fitting the full delete kit as well. Apparently on PD's it's throws the engine light on if you remove the valve completely unless the EGR has been mapped out - yours has been mapped out hasn't it so should be ok. The only 'downside' is you lose the anti shudder valve so it's a bit rougher when you turn the engine off...doesn't bother me though, it's a diesel after all.

    No idea on fuel economy yet as it hasn't been done long. It's gotta help though I'd of thought, even if it's a minute difference...

    yeah i suppose so i could always pop up to PSI and ask them if the custom code map removed the egr
