Anyone had dealings with them? please give ...
I brought my car from there and they were ok. The bloke who was selling me the car had worked at mitsubishi for a long time and it was only his 2nd week at VW and tbh he didnt really have a clue he said that the cam belt didnt need changing for 100.000 miles or 10 years lol i had to brief him up on that one thn he started quoting the service book you get with the car. The after service wasnt amazing and the valeters were ropey at best leaving dirt markes on the car and not hoovering the car out to a very good standard. But when i brought the car it was lakeside vw and i know it has changed handes now so things may have improved.
My dad treated him self once and took the car for a full dealer service. when it was in there they rang him up and told him the cam belt needed changing as it was due (this was at the 4 year point although the car had only done 30k) then they tried to bully him over the phone to get the break fluid changed aswell. they tried to replace a bulb which resulted in the technician breaking the bumper and headlight and then they tried to charge my dad for the privlidge of fixing it. In the end they fixed it at their cost.
My grandad brought his polo 1.4tdi from there brandnew in cash the sales man was pressuring for him to take finance (im guessing he was on a bonus system) the after care was so bad that he now goes to premier leek for all his servicing and wont go down there.
The ginger young lad at parts is useless as i went for a part and didnt know what it was called as my pipe of brake servo was leaking air due to small hole which had rubbed through so i temp bodged up with another pipe and jublie clips . He came out to look for part number and said it was a air con pipe and i would be ok for me to carry on driving funny thing was my car dint have air con .
I had mine from Stoke Volkswagen it was a girl sales person crap. I picked mine up in the evening and it had been raining. I asked them the week before its going to be dark when I pick it up they said thats ok it will be in the garage to you can inspect it. I said to the girl it supposed to be in the garage for inspection, no one told me she said. If you find anything wrong tomorrow ket us know and we will fix it. The next day I noticed a 50mm line by the fuel cap which wouldn't rub off so I phoned them and took it back, the removed the mark.
I don't find them a good dealer for technical problems. I was browsing through the brochure after I bought mine and it said I should have the digital gear indicator which I hadn't. I went back and asked them about this. The plugged there machine in and said there is no option to enable this I must have an older dash. No the brochure says I should have this on MY2010 models and its not there, I wasn't really bothered its a matter it should be there when it wasn't.
Of course you ask these questions on forums and some users said there 2009 Golf has it so older dash is bull. Another user said he took his back to VW Huddersfield to have this enabled. They plugged his in their tester which sent the report to VW and it came back with a software update to enable this. I had to tell them what to do.
I had the 3 years service plan for £250 they may as well service it while its under warranty. Its due for its second service at the end of this month.
