    Re: Stoke Volkswagen

I brought my car from there and they were ok. The bloke who was selling me the car had worked at mitsubishi for a long time and it was only his 2nd week at VW and tbh he didnt really have a clue he said that the cam belt didnt need changing for 100.000 miles or 10 years lol i had to brief him up on that one thn he started quoting the service book you get with the car. The after service wasnt amazing and the valeters were ropey at best leaving dirt markes on the car and not hoovering the car out to a very good standard. But when i brought the car it was lakeside vw and i know it has changed handes now so things may have improved.

My dad treated him self once and took the car for a full dealer service. when it was in there they rang him up and told him the cam belt needed changing as it was due (this was at the 4 year point although the car had only done 30k) then they tried to bully him over the phone to get the break fluid changed aswell. they tried to replace a bulb which resulted in the technician breaking the bumper and headlight and then they tried to charge my dad for the privlidge of fixing it. In the end they fixed it at their cost.

My grandad brought his polo 1.4tdi from there brandnew in cash the sales man was pressuring for him to take finance (im guessing he was on a bonus system) the after care was so bad that he now goes to premier leek for all his servicing and wont go down there.

    Re: Stoke Volkswagen

I had mine from Stoke Volkswagen it was a girl sales person crap. I picked mine up in the evening and it had been raining. I asked them the week before its going to be dark when I pick it up they said thats ok it will be in the garage to you can inspect it. I said to the girl it supposed to be in the garage for inspection, no one told me she said. If you find anything wrong tomorrow ket us know and we will fix it. The next day I noticed a 50mm line by the fuel cap which wouldn't rub off so I phoned them and took it back, the removed the mark.

I don't find them a good dealer for technical problems. I was browsing through the brochure after I bought mine and it said I should have the digital gear indicator which I hadn't. I went back and asked them about this. The plugged there machine in and said there is no option to enable this I must have an older dash. No the brochure says I should have this on MY2010 models and its not there, I wasn't really bothered its a matter it should be there when it wasn't.

Of course you ask these questions on forums and some users said there 2009 Golf has it so older dash is bull. Another user said he took his back to VW Huddersfield to have this enabled. They plugged his in their tester which sent the report to VW and it came back with a software update to enable this. I had to tell them what to do.

I had the 3 years service plan for £250 they may as well service it while its under warranty. Its due for its second service at the end of this month.

    Re: Stoke Volkswagen

    Hi guys.

I had my 3rd service under the service plan back in January this year.

In December I had a phone call from my dealer Stoke Volkswagen saying according to our records your car is due for a service and MOT in January. Yes I know it is I was going to book a date next month. He said I can book a date and time now as we might be busy in January. Ok so we worked out a date and time and he was going to email me with the details, he never did so that 1 mark against them. I get another phone call January saying the same its due for a service and MOT at the end of the month. I said they phoned me last month to tell me this and he gave me a date and time but he never confirmed this by email which he said he was going to do. She checked the workshop loading and it hadn't been booked in so she booked it in for 22nd Jan, 2 marks against them.

I took it on that day at 10:00 and said at 3 years its due for the free brake fluid change. She went away to check, it was due for the free brake fluid change they will do that as well as the MOT. I also said I'm still not happy with the drivers seat sagging which was reported on the last service, but thats another long story which I won't tell you unless someone asks. An hour and half later it was done, I could see them working on the car through the reception window while I sat down and drank 3 cups of coffee.

Job done I paid the £49 MOT and went out to the car. The service schedule was on the seat and I browsed through to see what had been done. Brake fluid change NO, I went back in. Have they changed the brake fluid because it hasn't been ticked in the service schedule? She went away to ask, no it hasn't been done that 3 marks against them. So they brought it back in to change the brake fluid. I could see the technician doing the rear brakes then the workshop went quite for a while it was bleeding lunch time. He came back and did the front brakes. I said in the previous 2 years its been serviced here you've ticked longlife oil used YES this year you have ticked NO why? We do use longlife oil but because mine is the time/distance 10k service they don't tick that because the longlife is generally for 20k longlife service.

1 week later I had an email asking me to fill in a questionaire about the service which I did. I listed everything wrong with the service but I've never had any feedback or reply.

So I'm not impressed with Stoke Volkswagen service.

Have only used them to order parts that you can't get from GT, Chell factors or CES. Had no problems.

Excuse me Jon are you the same one in the email address do you work for Stoke Volkswagen?

I know you can get cheaper MOT's but it was in for service and the MOT was due in a week so let them do it.

Do you think someone from Stoke Volkswagen would be able to post over 10,000 posts on here during daytime hours? Plus the fact I said

Would someone from Stoke Volkswagen tell you to use another company?
