Re: Insurance - Who's with who?

I was with Flux for the past 3 years but this year I switched to Greenlight.

What always cheesed me off with AF (and other companies) was the renewal quote, you could always ring another insurer get a cheaper quote and then ring AF back and the would beat or match it (remove £25 admin fee etc) so this year I PM'd Neil from Geenlight (forum sponsor on UKMKIV's) with all my mods and details and he did the quote and called me back and beat AF by nearly £100 with forum discount etc. on like for like - well not quite as Greenlight have unlimited cosmetic mods with no £25 admin fee when you call them unlike AF.

So called AF back and true to form she could match the quote but I still told her I'd be leaving as they should provide the best quote first time as after all we are paying the £25 admin fee which should cover a new search not just a renewal quote from my current insurer.

Insurance companies should have a duty of care to provide details of the cheapest quotes at renewal time not just the renewal price so you have a comparison.

Just left sky insurance as they re quoted me with £385, so gone back to greenlight insurance so had return customer discounts and a limited millage discount, windscreen, legal and courtesy car extras included got it down to £329 with ncb protected and all mods declared.
