Such a thing as a jetta gti?

Hello,
I'm new to Volkswagens. I just bought my first one a month ago.
It's a 2009 Jetta with the 2.5 and six speed automatic. I love the car. The problem is that the grill says gti on it. It looks nice, but as far as I can tell, a gti is only a hatchback and has a 2.0.
It has a rebuilt title, making me think someone put the gti grill on it? Now full disclosure, I didn't buy it because I wanted a gti. I just liked the car, and want to know what it really is.
