Thread: Alfa Romeo Mito

  1. #1

    Alfa Romeo Mito

We are thinking of getting a new car and we are getting bored with VAG as there is not an exciting model in any range unless you are spunking close to 30k on a car.

Misses wants a Mini Cooper JCW but i dont cos they are as common as muck and getting a bit long in the tooth now.
Polo GTi is god awful boring and is way to expensive for what it is.
Fabia VRS is an option but i just get over the fact that they just look wrong.
Ibiza Cupra is another option but after looking round one today it just is a bit boring and we have already had 3 Seats.
Final option was a Alfa Mito Cloverleaf.

Took one out today for a test drive and fuk me what a nice car. Look great, comes with shed loads as standard including 18's, 300 mm 4 pots, active suspension etc etc. Option of carbon backed Sabelt buckets (£2000 ) and all in for under 20k. Black with blacked out windows, black headlight surrounds and rear light surrounds.
Im now converted to the dark side of Italian motoring and yes i know its an Alfa but it aint going be anymore unreliable than any new VAG we've had and it uses lots of parts from a Punto.....you know wat i dont care.

Thought about the Audi A1? Similar in looks... But might be priced higher?

Might be something I look into also but Alfa have always had poor resale values not sure of this latest model though

The A1 is yet another overpriced VAG that hasnt got the get up and go. And to spec it close to the Mito is about 7k more. Resales arnt as bad as previous Alfas but the depreciation is still high. But thats the price you pay for something different these days.

How about the Citroen DS3 Dsport? I know it's French but it's a tidy looking car. It's well priced too.
    Test drive?

    Re: Alfa Romeo Mito

The Mito's are quite a nice looking car, for a girlie at least....VAG need to design some funky looking cars like this. But unfortunately you'll soon forget about its looks when it starts to go wrong...and it will. My misses has a new shape Punto which is what these are based on and it is a piece of f*****g junk., just one problem after another with it. I've built better quality cars out of Lego....
