    How wide?

    Hi Guy's/ Gal's,

Can anyone help me out, i thinking of fitting some steel wheels to my mk4 golf hatch, its lowered on coils, not completely sure how low it is, i think i said it up about 60/50 front to back. the steels are a 5x112 so i know i need a adaptor kit to fit the 5x100 of the golf, but where i need help is on width, the two sets i looking at are as followed, 15''x 10'' with a -32 ET. The others are a 16''x8''. no info on site of the ET, pretty sure they will fit fine but not to sure about the 10'' wide ones. i have read that 9'' wheels fit easy especially at the back. but not sure if will need cut any inner arches or roll the outer ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks chris.

    Re: How wide?

My advice would be NOT to cut/ roll the arches as in the long run you're setting yourself up for grief. The bell who had the Mk2 before me cut the rim from the front arches (completely unnecessary) which caused serious rot issues.

I'm thinking 10" might be a bit much, do you have anyone local who can let you try such a size out?

    Re: How wide?

Its ok thinking just go for the more standard size, which is a 16"x8" wheel, once i have correct adaptors for a 5x100 to a 5x112 should fit ok, thanks anyway, do think 10" wide be pushin it, with that off set of -32 when think golf is at 35, need few spacers as well as the adaptor to get original vw off set.

Gets to the point where you're justifying existence. Go simple and enjoy
