bit of a shock this morning.....

well on our way tp the alton towers spa this morning toni was driving the beetle we were doing about 30-40mph by kingsley when we both felt a slight vibration through the car then the back started to go a bit soft.... i told toni to pull over so i could have a quick look and this was what i was created by earn i went around to the back of the car....

posted a quick picture on Facebook pat reckons that it could have been a puntcher caused by a nail or screw and when the pressure has dropped its destroyed the tyre the car has been sitting for a week or so as we have been in devon but i have no reason to think foul play

That is bad!!!!!! Was it a new or old tyre? Something similar happened to me about 1987/88 but not to that exstreme. I lost all the tread on the o/s front on the M6 and was left with just the metal wire.

Good that you noticed quickly and able to stop safely!
You'd think with all this tyre technology tyre blow outs would be a thing of the past.

Are you aware of the minimum tread depth sir?

    Glad you're both fine though
