    R/C or not R/C?

I grew up a Tamiya kid. From Christmas at around 12 when Madcap arrived, to the competition usage of my modified, 2wd Manta Ray, I knew I couldn't compete with the likes of a Schumacher Procat but I did it my way.

Three weeks ago I knocked the smokes on the head- believe me that's saving a chuffing bundle.

Having had the conversation with Nosecity and reliving our youthful r/c adventures, having stumbled around on Ebay for a while I found this....

Tamiya Sand Scorcher New Assembled, With Radio, 2 Batteries And Charger | eBay

Anyone else on here into r/c or is it the march of mid-life that's driving these desires?

Glad it ain't just me. I'm pretty sure i've still got my old set-up knocking about in the loft with a Tamiya Nissan GT-R bodied tub chassis. Going to have a look right now

use to be a keen racer myself but gave it up due to how stupidly competitive it got so sold it all to fund my first real car.

    Re: R/C or not R/C?

Tell me about it, started looking at the original Tamiya names I could remember, Grasshopper, Black Foot, Clod Buster, Lunchbox- couldn't believe how many are still about. Found a couple of complete un-built kits for reasonable amounts. Sandscorcher seems to command a premium and struggling to find it outside of online world, some complete kits are getting on for 400 notes.

Had forgotten this was knocking around, not as battle scarred as I remember either, I know I had to superglue the tyres onto the wheels to stop them spinning off
