How long is that piece of string again?

If you put your car spec in your thread or even your signature then we my know what car your talking about?

Oh its a 2001 Volkswagen Golf Mk4 is it?

Moved this to a separate thread to save you clogging up the other one...

I'm yet to be convinced about this as on all the "Good" VW forums the regular users rarely have their "Car Spec" in their signature areas normally just a link to their build thread or random arty picture...

One reason I set up the garage was so all users can show off their vehicles with the click of a button... This Button...

You'll find very few people are interested if someone has a "Flat Tyre Indicator" or a "service plan" using yours as an example... Most people want to click a link to be taken to the photos so they can see the metal... If people had to list their spec as you keep wanting them to then their signatures would be half a page long and with some members even longer...

Maybe but thats a minority. The main reason people search the web and using forums is because they have problems with there vehicle and need suggestions to fix it. This has been mensioned before that we have model sub forums which you asked about Model Specific areas? which no one thought was necessary apart from myself. They said there are plenty of sub forums here at the moment and more would swamp it. Yes there are alot of unnecessary sub forums in my opinion even that could be condensed to save index space.

I think you will find this to be a very small percentage of people... forums are mainly used for socially connecting people with the same interests... I didn't create staffs-vw because I needed to fix my car, I created it to connect to people around the area with the same interest... But a forum is a good source for knowledge as you have people from all avenues who have experience in different areas that could give solutions to problems...

You have the option to shrink each section if you think they are unnecassary using this button which is located at the end of each section bar on the main board.

By all means drop me a PM and lets hear how you would change everything....

    Re: Signatures

All the forums you have posted have a far larger amount of users from a far greater area.

This is a small club and a large group of users know each other and regularly go to meats together, so we all know who owns what car and what mods we have or are thinking off. You can quickly go to the readers rides or garage to find out who drives what. I think this way you are looking at the cars and the work they have put in not just a couple of lines of text that just gets in the way as you get less posts per page.
