    Winter time

well winter has arrived do any of you keep things in the boot just in case????

i always carry 2 high viz vests and a nice warm coat just incase i ever get stuck in the snow. never use de-icer prefer to use a scraper however had a nice tip from my mate take both car keys to work start the car with one then lock the car with the other while it de-frosts its self on the on the car park or at home on the drive and i generally keep some water in the passenger foot well incase the washer jets freeze

Snap... but if the weather is too bad, why risk putting yourself at risk or other people... safer option is to stay at home...

on another note, people who are paid a salary don't get paid if they don't go to work...

Most people can't afford to just sit at home if it snows...

I just keep a tow rope and a folding army spade in the boot. I dig my way out if I get stuck...or if that fails get the landcruiser to tow me...nothing stops the cruiser.

most companys dont see staying at home as an excuse anymore they will make you take a holiday or lose a days pay the thing is if you ring and say i cant get in there is always somebody who is close to where you live who has tried and made it

Not seen that rule in the workplace in over 12 years.. when the roads have been too dangerous to travel on I've always had to use a holiday to cover it because of this, much safer than being stuck out in it..

nearly every company I've delt with since '97 has stipulated that absense due to snow must be covered by a holiday or unpaid. I've never seen the excuse of snow being allowed.
