    New Beetle prices announced

Volkswagen Beetle prices announced | News | Auto Express

Volkswagen has opened orders for the all-new Beetle with prices starting from £16,490.

    At launch,
    Volkswagen
will offer buyers the choice of a 104bhp 1.2-litre TSI engine mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox – though a manual will be added late in 2012 – or a 157bhp 1.4-litre TSI engine mated to a six-speed manual.

Three trim levels are available, ranging from entry-level Beetle trim, with Design and Sport trims further up the range. A Sport model fitted with the 1.4 TSI engine is the most expensive model at £21,220.

Basic Beetle models get air-con, a CD player, DAB radio and central locking, while moving up to Design trim gets you 17-inch alloys, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity a multifunction steering-wheel and body coloured dashboard trim. Range-topping Sport models include 18-inch wheels, cruise control, parking sensors and sports seats as standard.

Later in 2012 Volkswagen will introduce three more engines to the line-up, including an efficient 1.6-litre TDI Bluemotion Technology model with 104bhp, a 2.0-litre TDI with 138bhp and a range-topping 197bhp 2.0-litre TSI unit.

First deliveries will be made in spring 2012.

1St gen Beetle was a modern take on the old one......which was a huge success....this one is a modern update on the modern remake..FAIL. Its a horrid looking thing that shouldnt be called a Beetle in my opinion.

I love this one more than the remake (not more than the original, though, obviously) 1.4 with 157bhp?! **** me. I'd have one in a New York minute if I didn't love the old ones so damn much...
