GTi Remap, will it be woth the cost?

Hi All, I have been considering a Re-map for my GTi. Its a 2.0 8 valve Mk4 petrol with 80.000 on the clock. I have been told not to bother as the gains would not be worth the cost (£250 to £345) What do you guys think? Also if I have it done where's a good place fairly local?

    Thanks,

    Brian

Normal asperated petrol or diesel cars don't see massive gains. Usually you get more gains with anything with a turbo. Diesel or petrol but as Jon said bvr are the people to talk to they have done a few re maps on my tdi s and I can recommend them on these

    Hi

You would get a 15bhp increase and a 22nm torque,

We have done a few non turbo cars and they just seem to drive better, throttle response and just how they rev more freely.

And if you think 15bhp on the standard 115 is almost 15% increase.

You want any more info just give Dave a call we are back open from Tuesday

I had my remap done at PS Tuning. I noticed a vast improvement on both response and it also got rid of a flat spot which I was told was common. I had mine done at 86500 miles and spent £360. It wasn't the cheapest but it was worth it.

Spend the cash on some new bushes. If it handles better you can hit corners faster.

Hi Guy's, Took your advice and went to BVR on Tuesday. He told me not to bother as it just wouldn't be worth it. So thanks for the advice. Might just see about some better suspension.
