Sounds like maf, blocked egr, turbo, does it blow plumes of black smoke? Or White/grey smoke?

No I checked this by getting my old man follow me, no smoke at all. I unplugged the MAF sensor and cleaned put it back and seems all good now. still seems abit sluggish but this might be me being abit negative and looking for problems lol

Iv found Gsf the cheapest for mafs, around 20 quid for cheap but id pay the extra and go Bosch, much better! Also when you service the car just to prolong the life of the sensor just give it a quick clean, rakes a minute with some carb cleaner or brake spray!

GSF were the best on price when I replaced my MAF, you also get a rebate if you give them your old one. Defo agree DENTOUt on the Bosch

has any error message come off vagcom?

I had my engine management light on and Vagcom said Maf Sensor had short / open circuit.

Unplugged it and sprayed Electrical Contact cleaner in the the plug and Maf Sensor socket. Must have had something on the contacts.
