Thread: Sensor problem, advice please!

    Sensor problem, advice please!

Hi im a newbie on here and wasnt quite sure if this was the right category for my problem. However, i have a seat inca van with a mk3 golf tdi 1.9 engine fitted (the later model i think with the mechanical fuel pump is it?). Anyway my problem is that everytime the drivers side door is opened and shut when you got to pull off when it hits around 1-1.5k revs they suddenly drop right down and it just goes into limp mode but as soon as you lift off the throttle and re-apply it its completely fine and drives perfect until you open and close the door again. im not the most gifted in mechanics but im sure that must mean there is something wrong between the sensor on the door and the engine, but what? can anyone help? thanks. (the van is a 51 plate)

its the 1z engine with the mechanical fuel pump? i think thats right. and its not the actual door sensor that casing the problem its the actal slamming of the door thats causing it so its some kind of wiring fault? an more suggestions? thanks a lot

you have a bare wire or loose connection, the bad news is that it could be anywhere if it only happens when slamming the door... might be worth a trip to an auto-electrician?
