    lupo problems.....

picked a 1.0 lupo up for the misses about a month ago, it drives fine ect got full mot and recent service
yet the oil light flashes and beeps every so often, have had oil change anf filter done to be on safe side plus temp sensor and oil sensor, so have covered all the common things it could be, yet it still does it??
also drove it the other day fan made bad squealing noise and continued after turning ignition off, which i persume is just the fan sticking or catching??
and also when checking under bonnet got a bad shock from the ht lead......
and epc light came on and went off

as anyone else had these sort of problems and if so any cure???
as it annoying us a bit as we have had main problems sorted

took it for drive last night at all seemed fine, no lights came on ect

    cheers george

no mate but that seems to be a common one that keeps popping up when i search

cars gettin looked at either tomorow or next week
most likeley seems to be either oil pressure as dave has said or blocked oil pick up, these seem to be the main causes that others have had

    Re: lupo problems.....

    Hi there

I had a similar issue with the oil light flashing every now and again.
Mine was due some dodgy wiring where someone over the life of the had moved the loom and it was starting to chaff. My mum still has the car 3 years on since this. It may also be worth trying an engine flush, or maybe even a Wynns 4 oil in there also
The HT leads are worth getting sorted, for the cost of them, GSF will cover them for sure!

    Cheers
    Adam

Bizarre question but do your reverse lights work properly? Echoing what Mick said, a lad at work has a 1.2 Ibiza on an 02 plate. His reverse light switch knackered (pee easy fix) but it caused some anomalies elsewhere with airbag lights coming on etc. Switch was replaced, lights stopped coming on.

Hi mate simple fix, if it only flashes now and then its 150 percent a dodgy pressure switch, its the brown one on front of the head, done a few of these now and always cured... Switch is about a tenner from unipart or Gsf and will take 3 mins to change.
If its on all the time then im afraid your oil pump is probs fubared.
