    Starter squeel

As per title really, no matter how gingerly i turn the key the starter motor over runs (never have any probs starting) and gives off an almighty squeel which is
becoming very annoying. Is the starter motor broken or could it be soemthing else?

Normally it's the alternator belt that squeals due to being stretched... Maybe

nah its defo not that, its more of a mechincal squeel if that makes any sense? did find a guide that shows how to remove and clean as a potential solution to the squeel problem but its way beyond my mechanic skills.

These are really prone to lazy starters, replace it with a recon and should be sound. the longer you leave it the more chance you have or rounding the teeth on the fly wheel then your looking at mega books

I also have a friend with a mk4 20v turbo and his does the same
