We have it but aren't able to offer our services FOC and you will need to book it in with us.

For the first half hour looking into faults we charge £25 inclusive of vat, after the first half hour we charge £42 per hour.

    Re: VCDS help

Could do with having it done free/couple of beers being a student, i probably have already spent more than i should trying to fix something in order to actually save money! lol

I'm living in Stafford. Its a golf mk4 gt tdi 115 AJM. I just need someone to have a good logging session with in order to maybe highlight what could be causing ****e mpg. I mean, it could be another sensor, but at £50+ a sensor, i can't just guess and buy a new one.

It's also ****e at cold starts, i think maybe timing?

    Re: VCDS help

Well as regards the poor cold starting does the glow plug light show, if so for how long this weather?

If you disconnect the engine coolant sensor and try and start it that will force the glow plugs to work for 20 seconds. If it starts quicker then you need to do a system check on the glow plug circuit.

We would have to arrange to meet somewhere.

If you PM Keithuk he might be able to help you out?

The problem with things like that is it always ends up being time consuming, by the time you've been out logging sensors, stripped the belts/pulleys enough to check the timing etc then rebuilt the time has already started to mount up and you still might not have found the problem

    Cheers guys.

I'm off to BVR today to see if they can make light of any of this. Perhaps just point me in the right direction

    Re: VCDS help

Considering you say your a student who's skint that's your choice.

    Re: VCDS help

True that, just feel maybe its something not so obvious.

I've looked at/changed everything I can from cts, cleaned egr, changed thermostat and MAF (MAF was non-genuine and was creating a massive flatspot)
I think i've narrowed the starting problem to fuel back siphoning though!

I mean, unless you are available for me to take you up on your offer sometime - i'm not around most weekends though
