    Mk5 jetta door problems

    Come to take the kids to school this morning and i couldn't open the passenger rear from outside or inside
    Anybody got any ideas?

    How free did the handle feel? Cable snapped?

    Second what Jon said. Passat had to have a new cable last year when the boy tried to open the front passanger door whilst it was still locked
    The worst thing about chocolate body paint is the bellybutton lindt.

    I need to have a decent nose at it tonight, but it wont open from the inside either

    hmmm... might be hard to see if you cannot open the door...

    Maybe pull the interior door card off from the inside, it might break afew of those plastic clips but thats it,

    Screw inside the handle

    Then just take off the panel behind the door card and you should have access to what you need or at least you'll be able to open the door and take the child lock off

    Then you can inspect it a little further

    Thats the confusing thing the child looks arent on, so dont know why it dont open from inside

    Been down the main dealer in Nuneaton today, but they didn't really know what the problem could be but would run a diagnostic check, she looked a bit stumped when i said you couldnt open the door for either side

    got to be the wire which connects to the handle and lock... it must be in two pieces now...

    Going to have a look at getting the door panel off tonight and see if anyhthing is a miss with the lock etc

    Well i've had a quick look, the door panel will not be easy to get off, but i have discovered another lead, the electric window does work either, so i'm now think that there could be a fault with the door loom
