    faulty central locking

guys im after a bit of help with the central locking on me cabby heres whats going on.

Drivers door doesnt unlock due to a broken barrel ( it comes out with the key )
Boot doesnt unlock all the time ( sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt)
When opening up the golf i have to go round to the passenger side and have the windows come down so i can then walk round to the drivers side to unlock the door from the inside but i have to pull the lock up and pull the door handle at the same time ..

also rear drivers side window doesnt move cause theres motor to move it cause this be causeing the problem ?

sounds like the clip is missing which holds the lock barrel in place ( you have to take door trim off )
check the wiring in boot as when you open and shut boot number times over the years the wiring normally brake's
    window motors common for failing

    Re: faulty central locking

Yes you are correct a mk3 hatch regulator will not fit, also you are better off fitting a full regulator rather than the motor because fitting a motor only can be a nightmare.

You sould be able to remove the door handle and find the problem with the lock without removing the doorcard.

Also as regaurds to the locking problem, as steve says check the wiring in the A pillar because this is a very common fail.

Next is to check the locking pump (located under on o/s rear light) the seal on the light can fail causing water to leak onto the pump causing problems so worth a check.

Ive got a few pumps here if you need a new one.

    Re: faulty central locking

Well I've took the door card off and also fitted it properly as it wasn't fitted properly before I've found out that the end price has snapped off the barrel so it's new door handle / lock off eBay on payday with the central locking I've replaced the pump with 1 I fetched from the scrap yard and it's still doing what it did before unlocking passengers side letting all the windows down but then hissing as if trying to unlock / lock all doors again
