    ABS and Electrical window switches....

    First problem....

I noticed that i didnt have a ABS light coming on or off on my dash on my mk3, so having found the panel to the right of the steering wheel i pulled it off to find ....IT NOT PLUGGED IN !!! I plugged it in and now have ABS and brake light on....my question is it probably needs a ABS sensor or how do i find the sensor that has died ???

    Second problem...

Drivers side electric window, when you press the switch, it goes up stops and goes back down again. Is it the switch (ie contacts on back of switch) or the cables ?? Also sometimes you cant work the passenger side window from the switch is this the same again contacts ??

    Cheers

    A mk3 what Matty?

Please put your car spec in your signature then we know what your talking about?

You really need to find someone with VAG-COM\VCDS (where do you live?) to give it an Autoscan to see what error codes come back. That will also give you a list of faults you didn't know you had.

To check ABS fault you need to read the DTC's or scope up all for sensors. The window fault may posably a wiring fault in the wiring though the A pillar to the door.
