    Fan problems

Recently had some trouble with my fan staying on when I turn the engine off, sometimes it will go on for around half an hour after I lock the car!

I thought I'd traced it back to a relay problem (grey one with I think 458 written on it)

Replaced the relay.. problem gone (for a week or so)

When I clear the engine faults with diagnostic tool it stops...? any suggestions?

Thanks in advance, car is a mk5 golf 1.6 fsi by the way

Fan normally stays on afterwards to cool the engine down.... not sure how long they stay on for though?

i know tourans are common for the fans failing and staying on and the usual fix is a new set. but if you book it in down BVR, Dave will be able to tell you.

Like Bisc says they can have problems with fans. One of the fans is a master and the other works as a slave from it.

It would need looking into to be sure though.
