    VR6 wont start

I think the immobiliser is stopping it from starting. Changed the starter motor and got a new battery. When I turn the ignition the fuel pump primes and dash lights come on. When I try to start I sometimes hear a click. Other times nothing. When I turn the ignition key back the clocks reset and something starts clicking. I have to dis the battery to stop it and try again.

I have tried looking for the alarm module so I can bypass the immobiliser but it's not where it should be.

Anyone got any ideas of what I could do to get the car started?

I'm in Crewe if anyone has the time to look at it for me.

    Thanks.

Try removing the starter motor and earth it, then turn it over. Just to see if the starter is spinning. And check all your earths as well...

Had a similar problem on my mk2, eventually traced back to a failed engine temperature sensor. Haven't had an issue since replacing.

Have I done the starter wiring right?

The cable coming from the + off the battery and the one from the alternator are connected to the solenoid. The cable coming from the - off the battery is connected to the bolt that is secured to the gearbox.

Clean all the connections up just to make sure theres no corrosion. Also can u turn the engine over by hand?
