Thread: Best coilovers for 6n2 gti?

    Best coilovers for 6n2 gti?

    Hi guys,
So i have a 6n2 GTI. Finally got the thing running right so its time to start looking at cosmetic mods now. Was wondering what opinions people have on coilovers? This is my first car so im not an expert in things right now which is why im asking. A lot of people are telling me not to get the budget coilovers (£200 mark) but to spend the extra money and go for a better brand, are they right? Also if anyone has any other suggestions on what to do to the car then please please let me know.

Am also looking into smoothing the bumpers out, but this looks way to complicated for myself to do and seems expensive to have done proffesionally, any tips?

Also, my headlights and indicators are looking a bit worse for wear, is there a way of cleaning them up to look new again or should i just buy new ones?

Thanks for reading, any help will be much appreciated.

Coilovers | Coilover Suspension Kits | AP, KW, Spax, Koni, Tein, Bilstein & More

This is what Demon Tweeks recommends for your car. My mk2 Golf was fitted with Spax PSX by the previous owner and have to say they do the job well. Rebound rates are good, ride isn't too harsh, adjustment is good and judging by the longevity of the product not too bad at all. I've heard of some failures of their products but they do seem keen to sort out any issues. Not mega expensive either.

Okay, thanks for the advice and link. Looking on that website though I can see some A.P. coilies that look more around my price budget (£400) mark. Dont want to be spending too much more on my first car ya see. Do you know much about these? Spax are close to £600 and i will get them if they are the best for my car, but want to look at slightly cheaper options first.

Go with what you feel happiest with dude- price doesn't always equate to satisfaction. I'm happy with the Spax set up on mine and recommend as such but then my opinion may be different to yours. If the AP fit the bill then go for them, the saddest thing to see is someone with a nice motor but unable to afford the fuel to go in it.

I can afford them like, just don't want to overspend on the car. I cant see it being show standard ever so i dont think i should splash out on the most expensive parts. The more i think about it though I think I might take your advice and go for the ones you recommended.
